TWISTS / PALM ROLLING METHOD

Starts at $80

Dreadlock twists / Palm rolling is a maintenance technique in which the palms of your hands roll (or twist) the hair into a circular formation. This technique is mainly used on traditional and semi freeform locs.

This method is reserved for  installation on short afro kinky hair.

It takes approximately 3 months for the hair to mature.

Advantages of Twists /Palm-Rolling

Saves Time:

Palm-roll maintenance can be completed within

45 minutes - 1-1/2 hours, whereas interlocking maintenance can take upwards of 2-3 hours when professionally maintained by a loctician.

What to expect

This method is the most popular , but it is also the most easy to unravel, therefore frequent maintenance is suggested until the dreads have matured.

By using your hands to cultivate the locs, the palm-roll maintenance is simple enough to be done on your own.

Time varies depending on type, length, thickness of hair and size of locks.

Installation  and maintenance Time: 45 minutes - 1.5 hours

Time varies depending on type, length, thickness of hair and size of locks.

DREADLOCK

INTERLOCK METHOD

Starts at $80

Interlocking is a dreadlock  technique in which the end of the loc is pulled through the root to tighten the new growth to the scalp.

This technique can be achieved with a tool or with fingers.

With this method you loose more length.

It creates a slightly textured look and requires little maintenance once created on the body of the dreadlock.

Advantages of Interlocking

Longer Lasting:

Maintenance session is considerably different  with interlocking as it allows you to go llonger between maintenance.

On average, you’ll have your locs maintained every six - eight weeks, compared to once a month with palm-rolling.

For all hair textures:

Interlocking is a technique that can be used to start and maintain any texture of hair because it prevents the hair from unraveling and encourages the hair to stay in place to begin the locking process.

Installation Time: 4-8
Maintenance appointment time: 1.5-2 hours.

Time varies depending on type, length, thickness of hair and size of dreads.

TWO STRAND TWISTS  METHOD

Starts at $80

Starting locs with two strand twists will give the locs a solid internal foundation and create thicker locs, depending on the size of the two-strand twists.

Advantages of  Two Strand Twists

Locs will hold form better and fewer chances of unraveling on installation compared to dreadlock twists.

Two strand maintenance can be completed within 45 minutes - 1-1/2 hours, whereas interlocking maintenance, can take upwards of 2-3 hours when professionally maintained by a loctician.

What to expect:
In some instances, in the beginning, your two strand twists may unravel at the ends, so it is important to always maintain the locs from root to ends.

Locs that are started with two strand twists can use palm rolling or comb twisting for maintenance.

Installation  and Maintenance Time: 1-3 hours

Time varies depending on the type, length, the thickness of hair and size of locks.
